Nineteen people were killed when a truck carrying heavy cement bags overturned on a highway in Gujarat. The Supreme Court today approved the centre's draft Cauvery Management Scheme for distribution of water among four South Indian states. A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra rejected the suggestions of Karnataka and Kerala governments over the scheme, terming them as devoid of merits. In a bid to promote EVs, AP govt Wednesday rolled out an electric mobility policy to give incentives to consumers, automakers, battery manufacturers and charging infrastructure firm. The policy will give complete reimbursement of road tax and registration fees, on the sale of electric vehicles until 2024. In a heinous act of animal cruelty, around 150 stray dogs, including pregnant ones, were allegedly poisoned and dumped in Kongara forest, 40 km from Saroor Nagar. The stray dogs were reportedly picked up from Jilleguda gram panchayat. Petrol and diesel prices, which are revised on a daily basis, were not raised for 3 weeks before K'ntka elections.
