While India is quite proud of the number of adults with bank accounts increasing from 53% in 2014 to 80% in 2017. It seems like it is not enough as India has the second-largest unbanked population in the world. As many as 191 million Indian adults are still without a bank account. The figure places the country next only to China which has 224 million unbanked population.
